The short answer

Who buys caravans in North Wales and collects them?

Samco Caravans are caravan buyers for North Wales, and every route we offer starts on our sell my caravan page. We trade from our own yard on Bayley Street, Stalybridge, about an hour from Deeside, and pay for what we buy, so your details are never passed to traders.

The whole of North Wales sits inside our free collection radius of 150 miles. The valuation costs nothing, your offer is held for 30 days, and payment lands by bank transfer before the caravan is hitched up and towed away.

We have bought caravans for 17 years, 150 of them last year, and we buy caravans in North Wales all year round. Would you rather aim for a retail price, or trade up to another caravan? Sale or return and part exchange are compared below.

Three steps

How do I sell my caravan in North Wales?

To sell a caravan in North Wales you never have to tow it anywhere. Three steps take you from first message to money in your account.

01

Send photos and details

Make, model, year, berth and layout, with photos inside and out. Tell us about any damage or damp you know of.

02

We value it where it is

We inspect within 7 days of your enquiry, show you every damp reading and give a firm figure, held for 30 days.

03

We collect and pay

Collection is booked around you, from a driveway, storage yard or campsite. The money is transferred before it leaves.

Your three options

Outright sale, sale or return, or a private sale?

Selling to us is the quickest, sale or return aims for a retail price, and a private sale leaves every viewing and payment check to you.

Where your caravan stands

What do we check when we value your caravan?

A caravan valuation in North Wales follows the same six checks as one at our yard. Want a guide figure first? Value my caravan online.

Damp meter readings

We meter window surrounds, locker seams, the wardrobe base and washroom corners. Under 15% is generally fine; 20% or more means water is getting in.

Floor and bed boxes

Bed boxes come up and the floor is pressed inside the door and by the shower tray. A soft, spongy patch points to long-term water ingress.

Chassis number v CRiS

The 17-digit chassis number on the A-frame or window etch must match your CRiS document, which shows the caravan is yours to sell.

Mover, heating, fridge

The motor mover runs both wheels in both directions. Heating and fridge are tested from cold, the fridge on all three power sources.

Tyres, hitch, steadies

We read the tyre date codes, then check the AL-KO stabiliser hitch and friction pads, the corner steadies and handbrake travel.

Service history, weights

Stamped service books and habitation checks add value. MTPLM and payload decide which tow cars, and so which buyers, it suits.

Where we collect

Which North Wales towns do you collect from?

We collect from Wrexham and Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey. Most runs follow the A55 along the coast, so Deeside is about an hour from our Stalybridge yard and Holyhead under two and a half hours.

Every town in the table is inside our 150-mile free collection radius, so you never tow the caravan yourself. Collection from a seasonal pitch, storage site or driveway is booked on a day that suits you.

Collection day

What happens when we collect in North Wales?

Handing a caravan worth thousands to a buyer driving in from Greater Manchester is a fair thing to be wary of. This is how the day works.

  • The money lands first. Payment is made by bank transfer before your caravan leaves, and nothing is signed over until it is in your account.
  • No surprises on the day. You saw every damp reading at the valuation, and any repair cost was already built into the offer you accepted.
  • Have the paperwork ready. The CRiS document, keys, service book, habitation check records and handbooks go with the caravan.
  • Nothing to pay. No fees, and no collection charge anywhere in North Wales.

Questions owners ask

Selling a caravan in North Wales: your questions

Do you buy caravans from anywhere in Wales?

Yes, Samco buys touring caravans from anywhere in Wales, and collection is free across North Wales. If you searched we buy any caravan Wales, note that Samco is the buyer itself, not a middleman, so your details are not passed on to traders.

Can I sell my caravan in West Wales or South Wales?

Yes, Samco buys touring caravans from West and South Wales, but collection there is quoted rather than free. Carmarthen is 184 miles from our Stalybridge yard and Swansea 223, beyond our 150-mile free radius. Give us your postcode and we will price the collection before you decide.

Do you buy static caravans from North Wales holiday parks?

No, Samco buys touring caravans only, so static caravans and holiday homes on North Wales parks are outside what we take. A tourer kept on a seasonal pitch or in park storage can be collected from there. Our we buy any caravan page lists the makes and ages we take.

Can I sell my caravan in Wrexham without towing it to you?

Yes, Samco are caravan buyers for Wrexham, 61 miles from our Stalybridge yard, and we collect free from your driveway or storage site. If you searched we buy any caravan Wrexham, the short answer is any British-built touring caravan, of any age, damp included.

Can you value my caravan without me driving to Stalybridge?

Yes, Samco values caravans where they are kept, so North Wales owners never need to make the trip. You get a range from photos, usually the same day, and the firm figure follows the in-person damp readings at an inspection arranged within 7 days.

Will you buy a caravan with damp from a coastal site?

Yes, Samco buys caravans with damp, including ones that have spent years on exposed coastal pitches. You see every meter reading, and the repair cost is built into the offer rather than used as a reason to walk away.

Can I sell my caravan with finance still owing on it?

Yes, Samco settles the outstanding balance with your lender out of the sale and pays the rest to you. If you owe more than the caravan is worth, the shortfall has to be covered as part of the deal, so ask your lender for a settlement figure before you call.

Can you sell my caravan for me on sale or return?

Yes, Samco offers sale or return, also called brokerage or consignment, from our Stalybridge forecourt. Your caravan is priced at retail and stays yours until it sells. We'll talk you through the terms when we value your caravan.
